Definition

Citation Flow (CF) is a Majestic metric that measures the quantity of links pointing to a site. More backlinks generally increase CF. It's designed to be used alongside Trust Flow to evaluate both quantity and quality of backlinks.

Why It Matters for SEO

Citation Flow helps understand link volume. However, high CF without corresponding Trust Flow suggests low-quality link building. A healthy ratio of high Trust Flow to Citation Flow indicates relevant, trustworthy links.
